Riverside Fishery

Set behind Riverside Garden Centre, in Ewood, Blackburn, Lancashire, Riverside Fishery  is owned and run by Graham Smith of Riverside Garden Centre.

The small fishery  is well- stocked with a mix of fish including common, crucian carp and perch; Old English crucian carp, roach and rudd  and some green tench .  Despite its small size, carp have been caught to 4lbs on several occasions, most recently on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd August 2008. It has 4 pegs and offers both traditional coarse fishing as well as fishing for carp using modern techniques.

Almost completely surrounded by bushes and reeds, Riverside Fishery is a super little water, particularly in summer when fish can be taken from almost anywhere.

It has to be said that Riverside Fishery is a delightful venue which is in close proximity to the newly opened Riverside Cafe, where refreshments are available seven days a week during the opening hours of Riverside Garden Centre.

Riverside Fishery is a quiet venue where the fishing is what you make it and where the angler is up against fish which were stocked as juveniles by Graham and his team.

All this goes to make Riverside Fishery a cracking old fashioned venue which is priced at just £4 a go whatever time you turn up.

Riverside Fishery is so far known only to a handful of locals and anglers from further afield who have heard of it through word of mouth. Indeed, mid- week it is possible you will be the only angler there!

Riverside Fishery is open from 8.00am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday and 9.00am - 5.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays
